Crazy for Coconuts

Coconuts are one of the most useful things on this planet. Let's do a quick recap of what good comes from them: Piña Coladas, Shaved Coconut Topping, Samoas Girl Scout Cookies, Coconut Oil, Coconut Milk, Coconut Water, Coconut Bras {when you're feeling tropical} and so much more. I'm going to discuss some of my favorite uses of them and how wonderful they can be for you.

First: Your hair. After growing up in a very humid place {thanks Florida} I've learned how to deal with the frizz and random curls that show up the second I walk outside. This starts with taking the utmost care of your hair. I've had my hair dyed a few times and I'm still able to make it shiny and frizz free.

Treatments: Coconut Oil. You can use it in your cooking and you can use it on your hair. I've found by using it at least once a month, that my hair has grown faster and appears much healthier than before I began using it. See how to use it the best way from one of my friends, Jordan Anne with her YouTube tutorial here.  In the shower I use Marc Anthony's  Coconut Oil and Shea Butter shampoo and conditioner. It's sulfate-free which is a plus for your hair, and it still suds {most sulfate-free products have trouble doing so}. As far as products after I shower, I use a smidge of Moroccan Oil for a nice shine.

Recipes: As far as food goes, I'm going to attach my favorite coconutty recipes below. So delicious and worth a try. Some of these make me cry happy tears.

 Coconut Oil Chocolate Chip Cookies

No Bake Strawberry Cheesecake

Crockpot Coconut Hot Chocolate

Coconut Lime Rice

Also, a quick and easy treat {that's super photogenic} is buying a whole coconut, drilling a hole in the top and sticking a straw in it for a tasty coconut milk beverage. After this, you can crack it in half and fill it with fruit! Happy Coconutting!
